Mother's Day dinnerLast Sunday we honoured 3 beautiful mom's on Mother's day!!
Tammy and Paul hosted Mother's day dinner again this year!! Darrin made his famous BBQ shrimp for a starter and Tammy made her spinach & feta stuffed chicken breast with 2 side dishes and I was in charge of desserts. I wasn't allowed to cheat and I have to admit it was tough being at dinner and smelling the delicious aroma of scrumptious food and not able to indulge! However...I made it through the evening.

I went overboard with the desserts this year. I was baking a bunch of new recipes and I had a strawberry theme going on. But just in case the new recipes didn't turn out..I made some old favourites too. I had to have Darrin and Mark taste test all the goodies as I prepared them to make sure they were all ok to bring for dinner. Poor.....Darrin...and Mark..lol.. 
I made chocolate caramel brownies, chocolate covered strawberries, white chocolate dipped strawberries, strawberry biscuits, strawberry strudel bars, strawberry cheesecake oatmeal bars, strawberry filled butter cookie sandwiches, strawberry filled oatmeal cookies, banana cream sandwich cookies and strawberry cream filled mini cupcakes. I must have made enough goodies for 50 people!! Needless to say everyone went home with a treat container:)WWE at Copps!!
Attending a live event is something I haven't done since I was a little girl. My dad used to take me to wrestling when it came to Hamilton. Everyone who knows us, knows Darrin is a big wrestling fan and since it was coming to Hamilton he decided to get us tickets. Well....these weren't just any old tickets...they were FRONT ROW seats!! The evening was amazing!! I couldn't believe how the show has changed....needless to say..the seats made the evening amazing!! Darrin was able to get some fantastic photos and being so close to the ring really made me realize what these guys (and girls) put their bodies through. 
They may be entertainers but my gosh....some of those "thumps" and "slams" were crazy! During the Cena match we had a surprise with him being thrown over the barrier and almost landing in Darrin's lap!!
We will remember that event for a long time to come!!It was a lot of fun:)

Thank you so much for the awesome mothers day dinner and get together. We had a wonderful time as usual, you guys do such a wonderful job of spoiling us moms, that there are just no words to discrib it.
LA.your deserts were fantastic to say the least,we are so lucky to have a daughter in law like you.
A special thanks to LA.sister Tammy & husband Paul for hosting this event every year, it is just so kind of you and you do such a wonderful job.
It is great to be able to spend some time with our extended family, they are such wonderful people and we love them all very much.
To my number one son Darrin,thank you so much for being the special son that you are and for showing so much love to your mom on mothers day.

Hi Everyone,
I too would like to express my appreciation for a wonderful day on Mother's Day! My girls (and boys) really outdid themselves to make it such a "special" day for us "moms"! Thanks to all of you (including Kay/Dick and Caroline/Ron) for all of the beautiful gifts! I FINALLY got to visit with my "youngest" daughter!
The food was great and the desserts "amazing"!
